From the beginning of business, businesses have felt the need to share what they do on a billboard-like way to their customers. This process has developed over the years and will continue to develop. But the billboard will continue in some form. As long as businesses need to create visibility, there will be billboards.
Over time, billboards have taken different forms. But the aim has always been the same….. “To get noticed”. As you may have discovered, depending on where you do business, different types of billboards work.
Now for the sake of clarity, I am not just talking about the giant billboards by the highway. A billboard can even be something on the Internet that gets displayed to people viewing it on their smart phones. You might even call it an ad. Regardless, it’s still a method to create some visibility for your business and show others what you have to offer them.
Now it would be fun to have my own billboard over Truro just like the picture above. That’s some Photoshop fun happening there. But in reality, I have billboards all over the place via the Internet. We might call them blog posts, search results, social media posts and such. Nevertheless, they are still billboard-like methods to achieve visibility for my business.
The question I ask you today is this…. “Where are your billboards for creating visibility for your business?”
I saw this infographic from Mashable. Look at what it is saying…
These are some of the new types of billboards. Some have greater visibility than others. But one thing is for sure, your customers are loading these apps on their smartphones in increasing numbers. Now with that in mind, where are you going to place your billboards? Are you going for Main Street or are you going to place it somewhere in the back woods?
Consider today where you are placing your efforts and where you are placing your billboards. Facebook and YouTube seem good choices to me 😉
