I remember a saying I heard many years ago that went like this… “Don’t forget in the darkness what you know to be true in the light.”
What this means is this, when things don’t look good because you cannot see ahead, don’t forget what you already know to be true. If you have set a direction based on facts you know to be true, why panic or get confused when you get super busy or things don’t seem to be working.
If you have set that course, stick to it; unless you have definite information to the contrary.
I am hearing a lot of different advice for social media. Stats say one thing and yet others say another. Who do I believe? Sometimes you have to go with your gut.
I hear people saying Facebook usage is down. Stats say that Google+ usage is down. Where should one invest their time? That my friend is the question.
So what is working for you? That’s the question you need to ask. Don’t go entirely on people or stats. What do you see that is returning results for your business? If something is working for you, despite what the stats say, push right ahead. You gut is a pretty good resource as well.
Lately Twitter has been huge for my business. I am making more contacts and getting calls. You need to look at what is working for you and go with it.
These economic times may look dark, but focus on what you are doing in your business. Don’t look to the side and loose your momentum. Keep pushing ahead. You can do it. I believe you can. You need to believe you can as well.
So don’t forget in the darkness what you know to be true in the light.
