When a non-profit demonstrates extraordinary thinking in how it conducts business, for-profit businesses need to pay attention and learn. This is an awesome example of how tech can get the job done.
I saw John Haydon post this on Twitter:
His post got me curious and I posted this:
Then John Haydon replied with the following tweets:
John had just spotted a business owner using new resources in an unconventional way to provide awesome customer service. Most food trucks make you come to the counter, order and wait. The Clover Food Truck people are thinking differently; I’m not going to say “Out of the Box Thinking”.
The woman waiting on the customers is using a iPhone to take orders and get them to the cooks inside. She is engaging the customers as they wait in line. She is also taking their money ahead of time so that there is no unnecessary waiting. This is pure brilliance. Some one is using tech the way it was intended to be used to make our lives easier and simpler.
The Clover Food Truck is also using Foursquare to help their customers know where they are and at what time. This makes it easier for customers to meet the Food Truck and get their snacks. Brilliant use of social media folks.
As asked John if I could share this in my blog. He replied:
Only a non-profit. Well let me tell you that there are some non-profits that are doing business better than the for-profits. The Clover Food Truck has impressed me so much that I will have to visit them when I go up again to Ontario. I love this type of thinking. This is what I am trying to encourage you to start thinking like.
So when you think that it can’t me done, look at the Clover Food Truck and see how they are making the lives of their customers better; one pit stop at a time.
This is a really great post tand they are really using technology to make their business stand out from any other. It amazes me that their not a non profit but oh well. But, the use of Iphones with foursquare is such a smart move on the owner. You can only imagine how much growth they are going to receive once they start to expand out more.
@Justicewordlaw foursquare This is an exciting example of how social and tech can be done. I expect more shortly. These food truck people are brilliant. I’ll buy you a hamburger Justice when we visit this truck 🙂
@Alpha_Computer Sounds good to me I am always open for an vacation.
