After some instruction reading and trial and error, I was able to create a custom application on a new Facebook Page that did not have any FBML apps on it. Here is the screen shot. Notice the arrow points to the application tab.

Creating custom tab with new iFrame app

I choose the Facebook icon just to show that icons can be added at will. I added a picture to the application as well as a flash video.  Now I want you to keep in mind that the display comes from a web page I have created in a separate folder on my web site. IFrames require you to upload content to a web site outside of Facebook. This is one of the main differences that iFrames have with the FBML apps. If you cannot upload a web page that you created to a web site, it will not happen for you.

It took several tries to actually get it right. I will get better as I do more and more of them. Because I know how to code and I have a web site, I can do this. The average business will not have someone able to do this. It’s now going to take paying someone who can:

  1. design
  2. upload and
  3. create the iFrame for the Facebook Page.

One cool thing that I like about the iFrame is this; I can add the iFrame app to any page I want. If several Facebook Pages need the same app loaded to them, it’s a simple process after the iFrame app is created. It just gets added to the Facebook Page. But the iFrame app is the same across all those Facebook Pages. If you want different, you will have to have another iFrame app made. I will add more information as I play with the iFrame app some more. Until then, keep your stick on the ice 🙂

Here is a screen shot with iFrame app added to Page with FBML app.
