Google looks at all your web pages and sites for load time. This factors in your Google Page Rank. Google has a tool for analyzing your page speed; and it makes recommendations.

The tool is called Page Speed Online. You just put the URL for your web site in and watch as Google shows you the recommendations for speeding up your site.

You may not know what all the results mean; but go ahead and Google for the “How To”. Over time you can make the adjustments needed to help your web site do better.

I needed to work on “Leverage browser caching”. After a quick Google search, I found “Leverage Browser Caching to Increase Website Speed“. This helped me update my .htaccess file with new code for creating a faster load time for my site.

Other things you can do is to control the number and file size of the photos on each page. The greater the number and the bigger the file sizes, the slower your page will load. So keep the number and file sizes to a little as possible to create a great loading page.
