4 businesses. 1.5 hours of training each. They could have whatever social media training they wanted. They all went for Facebook Page upgrades.

My local regional development agency hired me today to help 4 businesses get whatever training they felt they needed for their business. All 4 businesses went with Facebook Page app upgrades.

We discussed briefly their web pages. Many felt that their web sites were outdated and in need of a refreshing. But their main goal for today was to get their Facebook Pages as up to date.

I asked them if they understood why big companies were driving people to their Facebook Pages and their Twitter accounts. After some thinking on their part, I shared with them that a Facebook Page could have much of the same functionality as a web page; but with the additional functionality of the Wall.

The place where Facebook Pages really shine over a web page or web site is on the Wall. Web sites are static and do not allow much interaction among parties. The Wall allows comments and discussions. These discussions can end up creating opportunities.

So if you have lots of money and time, create a web site. But don’t forget to create a Facebook Page as well for those valuable comments. If you have very little money, focus on creating a Facebook Page. You can use that for a web presence. It can bring you business.
