There are several social media business training programs going on right now in Halifax, Dartmouth, Stewiacke and Truro. In these programs, we are focusing on Twitter, and how to use Twitter more effectively for business. Here’s your next Twitter tip.
You can use 140 characters in Twitter. But should you? Watch this video:
According to the video, the ideal length of your tweet should be around 115 characters in length. This leaves room for others to add comments when they retweet your message.
Traditionally, original Twitter usernames were allowed to be 20 characters. Now new Twitter usernames are only 15 characters. But there are still Twitter users out there with 20 characters in them. When a retweet happens, the original Twitter username will be added to the tweet. This could truncate the original tweet by cutting off text. This could even break a hyperlink and ruin the tweet all together.
When you keep your tweet to 115 characters or so, you make room for others to retweet with confidence. They will not ruin the functionality of the original tweet, and they should have room at add a further remark.
So run with this tip and see what you can do. Here’s wishing you a great day in business. Remember, I am cheering your onward.
