How do you see all the tweets from the people who are important to you and your business? How do you keep track of those important tweets you want to respond back to? Twitter has a solution for both concerns. This is what I am teaching my Halifax social media business class.

There is a lot of noise on Twitter. So many people tweeting a lot every day. Fortunately sanity is within grasp when you use a Twitter List. Adding some to a Twitter list allows you to focus on them and filter out all the other noise. If you need to see all of someone’s tweets, put them on a Twitter List.
First of all, you have to create the list on Twitter. Just click on the “Cog” to the right of the search box and select Lists from the drop down box.
Then all you have to do is click on the Create List button. The only question now is whether you will make your list private or public. If you leave your list Public, other people can subscribe to that list and see the results.
The other helpful thing you can do on Twitter is mark a tweet as a Favorite. It’s works like a bookmark. When you Favorite a tweet, you save it for later viewing. Great for when you are on the run but don’t want to miss the tweet.
Once you see the tweet you want to save for later, you click on “Favorite” directly below the tweet. The tweet can then be found in the Favorites section of your Twitter account. You click on “Me” in the top menu of Twitter to get there. Favorites are also good for keeping tweets where people are saying good things about you.
