With Allfacebook.com’s article “WARNING: FaceNiff Hijacks Facebookers Via Android” comes the need to make sure that you surf your Facebook, Twitter and other social media applications with HTTPS.
HTTPS allows you to make a secure internet connection to your social media applications. This prevents information from being intercepted by others while you are in a coffee shop for example. You have to turn this option on in each application.
The above screen shot is from Facebook, on my laptop. I went into the Application Settings from the Account click point in the upper right of the Facebook screen. You have to click in the check box that says “Browse Facebook on a secure connection (https) whenever possible“. Make sure you click on the Save button after doing this to save your changes. You can do the same thing on Twitter.
Make sure you are safe when you surf; either on a laptop or a smart phone. Take the necessary steps to be safe. Don’t wait for Facebook or Twitter to do so for you.
