Some of us have been waiting for the Facebook Timeline to arrive on our Facebook Business Pages. And here it is. You can try it now. March 31st is date for everyone.
I took my Jeff Brown – Social Media Training Facebook Page for a test drive on the new Timeline. Here’s what I did in a few short minutes:
There are quite a few changes; especially how people will navigate around. I made some quick changes to some App buttons and checked what else had to be changed right away.
What I quickly noticed:
- Apps that are on your page get a great big white area. I am wondering if we get to go beyond the 520 pixel barrier?
- The usual tabs under the Profile picture for the old Facebook Pages are moved just below the wide Timeline profile picture area to the right. Not all the tabs will be displayed. There is a down arrow for more tabs. Will people realize this?
I will have more of a chance to help you get up to speed soon. Right now, it’s off to speak on social media to the Novas Scotia CBDCs. Have a great day and wish me well on Twitter @4JeffBrown
Update: meeting was awesome. When you speak, opportunity always comes. When I returned to the office, I changed my Timeline cover to this:
I am much happier with this cover for now. Until I change my mind. I see people doing some cool stuff already with their covers. One of my favorites so far is NB Crime Stoppers Facebook Page. They did an awesome job. Have a look and it might give you an idea of what you can do.
