I remember the Monty Python skit where the guys are fish in a fish tank. We see them saying good morning to each other over & over again. Good morning is a powerful way to start a conversation.
What was funny about the Month Python skit was the fact that they kept on saying “Good Morning” over and over again as they met each other in the fish tank. Such a simple idea for a skit; but a powerful lesson never the less.
Saying “Good Morning” is a great way to start someone’s day off. Many of us are not morning people; but we still like to be recognized and acknowledged. Saying “Good Morning” is a way to tell others that I see you and I appreciate you.
I see this a little on social media. We could use a whole lot more of it though. And when someone reaches out to you, acknowledge them back. You never know it could be the start of a great connection. After all, we can never be to friendly can we?
So say “Good Morning” to those around you. Remember though that it’s a big world. I usually add “Good Morning from Truro, Nova Scotia”. Those in other time zones understand that you are acknowledging them, even though it may be afternoon or night there where they are.
So reach out where you are right now and acknowledge someone. Practice the art of “Good Morning”.
