To create a greater impact in our social media presence, we are going to have to use a smart phone to get more tweets, posts and comments onto the Internet. We cannot always be at our computer, but we usually can find time to put a message out on a smart phone. Just think about all the time we spend waiting at the doctor’s office, gym, grocery store or waiting in line for a coffee. These are prime moments to share our thoughts and ideas.
One of the tools I use to help me do this is Vlingo. I downloaded it onto my Blackberry and began to speak my messages into text. Yes, I speak and it types text. I press the submit button and I am golden. You can do this as well. Just think, over time, you will still be able to use your thumbs; unlike many teenagers. I am a big fan of making things simpler. Vlingo does that for me. They have a great customer support presence on Twitter. Their support team is great at getting back to me via Email. In case you are wondering, I am not paid to endorse them. I just like Vlingo. I think it is a good product to mention. It is is useful to me and I believe it will be useful to you.
Vlingo is also available for the iPhone and the Android phone.
We can also use Twitter and Facebook apps on our smart phone by typing text into them. I use RIM versions of Twitter and Facebook. They give me the ability to upload photos as well.
One of the things that we want to work on in social media is increasing our Klout score. Simply put, this is your influence on social media with others. To create influence on social media, you have to be there. To be there more often, you need to use a smart phone to get your messages there.
So when I hear business people say to me that they do not have time for this, I ask them what they do when they have those spare moments outside the office. I remind them that a smart phone can help them be more effective with their time.
It’s is going to take work to create a great impact with your social media. A smart phone can help.
