Google likes to see a lot of inter connection between sites. This is what you should try to achieve. My web site points to my blog. My blog points back to my web site when ever possible.
You should also set feeds into both your web site and your blog. Google likes fresh content, and feeds are a good way to provide fresh content.
So today, look at what you have and see if you are maximizing what you have.
