Currently this morning Klout.com is having a meltdown in displaying Klout scores. I currently have more Klout than Barack Obama and Stephen Harper. When does that happen?
Now, let me say that, I like President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Both have more Klout or influence than I have. It is obvious that Klout and a few other sites are taking a long weekend. The sun is out and the developers are off to the beach 🙂
My friend Peter from the UK reported the glitch first thing in his blog. It seems that other sites are effected as well. The world might not have ended this weekend, but what a time this weekend has been.
All jokes aside, as much as Klout is a reasonably good measure of your influence online in the social media community, your best score for leadership influence is your track record. What have you done that will have left a lasting legacy?
There is a saying…”Leaders lead”. I can think of no time when leadership is more important than at this time in the world. People are looking for ethical wise leaders. Not everyone is a leader. But all of us are looking for great leaders to provide inspiration and direction.
Remember this when you are doing your social media. Don’t just throw things onto the Internet. Lead your follower and inspire them. Provide the leadership that will help that them to the next level.
And for today, I will smile at the fact that my Klout score is great than Obama’s and Harper’s. Tomorrow will be another day ~Jeff
