It does not have to take a long time to create and make a post to your social media. Knowing what to do can make you more effective with the time you have. When it comes to doing social media marketing for your business, you will need to develop your skills so that you can do some of your social media quickly.
You will get better at social media over time. Like everything, the more you use social media, the better you will get. You will learn how to make videos and create posts faster. You will learn what really matters, and what does not. Life is a grand teacher.
I tell my social media workshop participants that it could be a year before they are really good at social media. Some things will take them a lot of time at first. As they perform these skills over and over, they will get faster and better at doing them.
So many souls put so much pressure on themselves that is not reasonable in the first place. They simply have to be great out of the gate so to speak. You cannot run with the “Big Boys” and “Big Girls” at the start. But as you learn and get better at marketing, you can give them a run for their money.
Realistically, social media takes time to learn and become effective at. Depending on your previous experience and your ability to use electronic devices, it could take a while to see great results. I encourage my participants to be consistent and patient with their social media. They will have their successes and their failures. That’s the nature of social media.
So if you are pressuring yourself to be a social media guru in a few days, relax. Take a deep breath. Learn as you go along. There will always be something new to learn. Facebook will continue to change and frustrate you, for example. Commit yourself to life long learning, and learn a little bit each day. After all, social media is not a race. Social media is a skill set you develop. It’s a way to life. And it’s some thing that you will get better at as each day goes by. This I can promise you if you are faithful to building your skills.
So how do you get really good at your social media? Practice and try new things. Don’t limit yourself to what others are currently doing. Make something new yourself. Never be afraid to reach out to others. And don’t forget to get some training. This can short cut your learning to some degree. But remember that life has it’s own way of providing us with the best lessons.
So here’s to today’s mistakes that become tomorrow’s learning blocks for success. I am cheering you on 😀
