There is no shortage of links on Twitter. The information, and the sharing of that information, happens a lot on Twitter. But are we chatting it up there?
One of the key things that you will do on social media is engage others in conversations. Chit chat has to be there if you really want to connect with others. A robot can share information. But chit chat takes your social media to the next level.
Conversations allow others to get to know you better. This is where strategic alliances can be made. This is where opportunity happens.
Now I know that chit chat is not enough to grow a successful Twitter account. Just talking to people is not a growth facilitator. But it is necessary for people to get to know you better. Conversations can make business happen on social media.
I tell my clients that when some one connects or comments, that’s the time to act. These opportunities should not be missed, and let go down the river, so to speak.
So if you want to have a vital lively social media account that goes to the next level, you are going to have to talk to people and engage them. This is true in a room full on net workers. And it is true on social media.
So our walk away for today is this: chit chat can take your social media to the next level. People can get to know you better. This can make vital business connections for you. Don’t ignore small talk. It creates opportunity.
I love this post so much:) As far as I am concerned just slamming out links is white noise if it is not accompanied by engagement. One way you can start engagement is put a comment after the link – it helps.
