One of the keep areas that visitors look at the most is your Facebook Page picture. This is your one chance to make a great impression.

Jeff Brown Facebook Page PictureFacebook allows you to put a picture in the upper left part of the Facebook Page that can be 180 pixels wide by 540 pixels tall. This is a great place to show off your stuff. It’s also one of the hot spots on your Facebook Page. It get’s lots of eye traffic compared to other areas of the Facebook Page.

I design all my Facebook Page pictures in Adobe Photoshop. It’s quick, and it’s easy. Adobe Elements will do a good job as well if you want a cheaper Adobe program to use.

The first thing I do is create a new canvas that is 180 pixels wide by 540 pixels tall. Then I add the photos, as I need, to create that Facebook Page master piece. It just has to look so good, that people ask you how you did it. Conversations always bring opportunity.

As much as possible, the picture should be of you. It should be the best you can make it. If you have a company logo, include it with you. This way they know who they are connecting with. Even if you are a large company, it might be helpful to have a social media champion for the company and feature them as your go to person; along with the logo.

So the walk away for today is this: make your Facebook Page picture a good one. Use your canvas area as much as possible. It’s great eye candy. It will help increase your Facebook Page stick ability.
