It’s been more than two days and allfacebook.com still has the article in their blog recommending Chit Chat For Facebook, despite the comments from others advising them that there is a problem with that application. Chit Chat For Facebook contains spyware called Relevant Knowledge. When I installed it, and yes I feel silly that I did, the program put an update in my Facebook Profile page enticing others to install it as well. I quickly added comments for others not to install it. Upon the advice from an overseas friend, I removed the post and its comments completely. This person had not seen the comments and was going to install it. I am not going to leave something that could cause others to be infected. I certainly did not want others to think I was recommending Chit Chat For Facebook. So what’s the story with allfacebook.com?
The longer allfacebook.com leaves their recommendation up for Chit Chat For Facebook, the great chances that others will be infected with the spyware Relevant Knowledge. Months from now, people can search allfacebook.com, find the recommendation and get infected. Their recommendation will definitely turn up in search results.
So what is going on at allfacebook.com? Maybe they are waiting for the developers of the Chit Chat For Facebook application to get back to them? Maybe they believe that others will go to the bottom of the post and see all the people complaining that Chit Chat For Facebook contains spyware? Maybe they are taking an extended Holiday break and the posts are on auto pilot? What ever is going on over at allfacebook.com, some one had better get their hands of the wheel of the ship and fix this. The longer Chit Chat For Facebook gets recommended by allfacebook.com, without a comment or correction, the greater the chances are that others will get infected.
I appreciate everyone who retweeted and reposted my original warning out to their friends. I trust that many saw it and stayed away for Chit Chat For Facebook. After I figured out that this was spyware, I made myself accountable to warn others. I am still waiting for allfacebook.com to be accountable and update us. I really don’t think that allfacebook.com is in the business to infect us all. There must be something going on there. I can’t see them dropping the ball on this.
I do not want anyone thinking that I am putting allfacebook.com down. I reposted some of their links today. They are usually a great spot for information. I just do not see how they can sit on this one without as little as a comment. Let’s see what they will do.
