For my Halifax social media clients, it’s always a good idea to monitor your social media stream. You never know what the cat will drag in and what others will say about you and your business.

I regularly thank those who retweet me, who ever it is. It’s good to be nice to everyone. But there is a group of individuals that go crazy when anyone touches anything “Kemi” (aka @HipHossip) at all. They are so full of hate that they even have entire websites devoted to hatred of this one individual. These people have way too much time of their hands.

So if you have gotten a tweet from the above individual, please just ignore them. That way you do not poison your Twitter profile stream with their hatred. If you engage them, you will increase the visibility of their hatred.

I guess haters have to hate. Don’t waste your time or energy on their folks. Make sure you focus hard on moving your business ahead in Halifax and beyond. Use social media for good and make a difference this week. But let’s learn from this. Make sure you monitor your social media for your name and the hashtag of your name. You might be surprised at what you see.
