I am always trying to push social media to see what can be done. I want to show people that barriers can be broken in social media and on Google. Latest results for social media training Dartmouth & Halifax.
I had previously written several posts on how social media efforts Google Search results: Google Search Results 1 & The Art of Unlearning for example. Matt Cutts said it could be done; and he was right.
I have been monitoring the following keywords: “Social media training Dartmouth”, “Social Media Training Halifax”, Social Media Dartmouth” and “Social media Halifax”. Since I am a trainer, these are some of the keywords I want to rank well for. You will have you own keywords for what you do.
So when I did my last check on “Social media training Dartmouth”, I was surprised to see the following. Here’s a video of what I am seeing:
At this point it was time to phone a friend; so to speak. I put the following tweet out and received the following answers:
@4JeffBrown I see you in the top two links for sure!

@4JeffBrown Looks pretty similar to what i see here

Just because I thought it was so does not necessarily make it true. Both Christine and Graham shared what they saw. I took it one step further and called @RobCairns on Skype in Toronto. I asked him to check; and he got the same results.
Bottom line is this: social media can affect how you show up on Google. It’s not the only thing though. A good website, a blog for a sub-domain, a Twylah sub-domain and a good YouTube account help immensely. #justsaying
So what is our walk-a-way for today? Can you dominate Google search? Yes you can! Some keywords will be harder to show up for. It’s going to take time and work to make it happen. But in the end, if you are willing, you can make a really good dent in Google.
This really sums it up for me: “ Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together. ” Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890)
Here’s a funny video on wanting to be #1 on Google. Good questions to think about. Please note I do not approve of profanity; especially in business #justsaying
