Social media is greatly affected by technology. While social media primarily requires social skills, it still does require some technology skills as well. When technology changes, you have to be able to keep up. What is your plan for keeping up?
Whether we like it or not, there is learning involved with social media; especially when you are using it for business. The applications and the technology are constantly changing. As business owners and employees in Halifax, Dartmouth, Truro or elsewhere, we have a adapt to these changes when they come, or risk being ineffective. We might even risk our safety.
Windows 8.1 is one of the latest changes to our work tech environment. I use both Macs and PCs. But I still need to learn how to use Windows 8.1. Many people are putting off upgrading to Windows 8.1. But the time will come for a change in your computer’s operating system. Windows XP support is set to end this April. That means Windows 8.1 for many when they buy a new computer.
Now I know that many are not fans of the new Windows 8.1 period. Windows 7 is the choice for many. But if you are stuck with Windows 8.1, what are you going to do? Learning Windows 8.1 shortcut keys would be a good thing. Here’s a link to the Windows 8.1 keyboard shortcuts to help you do better.
So let me ask you this? When change comes to your PC or Mac, what plans do you have in place to keep up with the learning process? Putting it off is not a workable strategy. Change comes to all. Change affects us all.
For today, please do an audit of your learning. Do you have a plan on the job?
Here’s to a great day of business for you.
I just installed the Windows 8 operating system on my Toshiba laptop. I run both PCs and Macs. There is a large learning curve for Windows 8 because it now becomes a game of “Hide and Seek”. Microsoft hides and we have to seek out the functions and commands we need. Your social media is affected by these tech changes. Here are a few thoughts on this.
The Windows key on the keyboard now plays a major role in how you access the Start menu. The Start button is gone from the desktop and the laptop. The Windows key is the key with the Windows flag on it, right near the Space Bar 🙂
