Yesterday, I wrote a blog post talking about unlearning what you knew on Google Search. The post ended up as an extra search listing “Social media training Halifax” on first page Google.
I now have 3 first page Google listings for “Social media training Halifax”. Previously I only had 2. That was fast Google. Thanks for all the Google love.
Today the experiment is “Social media Halifax“. As it stands right now, I have only 1 listing on Google first page. The purpose of this post, along with some social media, is to get 2 listings for “Social media Halifax” on first page Google.
Yesterday, I had a great chat with a SEO expert and he shared a few things with me; on how I can get another listing first page Google. He explained that there is a correct way to do things that work with Google; and an incorrect way that goes bust. I will be taking what I have learned and putting it right into action. Let’s see if by tomorrow I can get another listing for “Social media Halifax” on first page.
Once I fine tune these efforts, I will be able to help my clients do better on Google. Keep in mind that this is not an exact science; a little prayer cannot hurt. Cover all your angles when you can 🙂
So what is our walk away for today? You can influence Google with a blog and social media. First of all, your blog should be attached to your main web site and not on a third party like Blogger.com or WordPress.com. Don’t drive traffic to them. Drive it to your stuff. Secondly, your social media can help you by pointing to your blog, for example. Social media can help get your blog shared by others.
So let’s watch and see what this grand experiment produces. We both might learn some new skills to help our businesses. Remember, if you don’t try, you will never see success. You can do it!
wohooo! @4jeffbrown I got to learn this trick from you sooner 🙂
@MeetuSinghal @4jeffbrown Let’s see how we do tomorrow in the search results. Then we can compare notes 🙂
As I continue to monitor the first page of Google for “Social media Halifax” and search words around this, I see one change in the “Social media Dartmouth” result. It’s the blog post I wrote on the Art of Unlearning. Putting away all Inhave learned, I am trying new tactics to see what will work and what is reproduce able.
Please let me know how I am doing in areas outside my local search area. This would be good to know information. Have an awesome Thursday 🙂
