Gone are the days when the phone and email are the only ways a customer can connect with your business. I remember working at a Chrysler store where we had 24 hours to reply to an email or else. The phone was key, but Email was an important means of making service appointment. Today, there are many ways for customers to connect to our businesses.
While I was working with a business client Monday afternoon, she opened her Facebook Page and saw an appointment request. I guess some people feel comfortable making appoints via a Facebook Page. She booked the appointment with the client. I previously wrote about a client who booked $500.00 worth of appointments via a Facebook Wall post. Customers are determining how they want to make contact with us. The question I must ask myself is this: “Am I giving my customers the connections they want to do business with me?” I just recently added Skype buttons to my main alphacomputer.ca web page as well as my Facebook Pages. I have phone, Email, text, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Skype as connect points. Adding cool looking icons for customers to click on helps as well.
So think about this yourself. Are you missing any business opportunities because you are not offering your customers their preferred means to communication? You should be open to being contacted by any means possible.
