Friday is Follow Friday on Twitter. You will see #FF hashtags in your Twitter news feeds. Follow Friday is your chance to recommend some to your followers to follow. This is a great way to get someone noticed and for you to make new connections on Twitter.

Who will you recommend? I am of the opinion that if you want to get a recommend, then you should go and recommend someone first. Don’t wait till someone recommends you. Make things happen in your Twitter community.

Follow-Friday

Here’s a few thoughts on how you should make your #FF recommend:

  • Recommend one person at a time. Make them feel special and not part of a bunch. No one wants to be a grape in a bunch of grapes.
  • Tell people why you are recommending this person to your community. Why is this person a great recommend.
  • Share this person’s contact info some how so that interested people can go out and check your recommend out better.

What ever you do, honor the person you are recommending. This could be a great boost for them on Twitter and you might be the catapult that gets them higher. Don’t worry about yourself. Just think of the golden rule. What goes around comes around.

So here’s to some great recommends this Friday and lots of opportunity. Don’t just stand there. Go out and recommend someone this #FF Follow Friday. You will be glad your did.
