I have been seeing spam on Facebook ever since I posted my sponsorship of a friend online. The ads seem to run the same way… “Well, I posted earlier in this comment thread and came back because I wanted you all to know how I did.” As a business using social media, you want to steer clear of this mess.
You have probably seen this before. Now before you go and click on anything, take a deep breath. The worst thing you could do in this case is click one of these blue hyperlinks or give the spammer a piece of your mind. When you do, you let them know they have a live one here. The spammers will just warm up the “spam machine” and give you a lot move spam love.
The best thing you can do is delete the comments that they posted and ban them from making any further comments. This will also prevent any of your friends from clicking on any of these links as well. No need to cause them any grief either.
Chances are that these accounts above are fake Facebook accounts, or accounts that have been hijacked and are now being used to sent out garbage. Don’t worry about hurting their feelings when you ban or block them.
So the best way to beat a spammer at his or her game is not to play at all. Delete their stuff and move on. Don’t waste your energy on them period. The last time I know that someone clicked or responded to spam, it did not go well. Keep your business far away from this foolishness.
