Whether you live in Halifax, Dartmouth, Truro or elsewhere, your social media effort for your business needs to have several different prongs or directions to reach and energize those around you.
I just finished a Skype call with a colleague from Social Catalyst Inc. Trefor Munn-Vern spoke on having a variable directional approach to your social media. Now we know that social media is primarily a 2 way street. It’s not about a 1 way broadcasting system. But have you looked at your social media? Are you doing the same things over and over?
Are you simply posting link after link? Are you always talking? Have you considered adding variety to your social media effort? Maybe one day you do one thing and the next day you do something else? It’s not for me to tell you what to do; it’s your ideas and your efforts that will count. You cannot go on social media like a drone. Remember that social media is not so much a technical thing as it is a social thing. Let your efforts reflect that in the many ways you do social.
So today’s walk away is this: analyze what you are doing on social media and see if it is the same old same thing approach. Is there any variety to what you are doing? Are you promoting others as well? Today’s post is short and sweet. It’s meant to get you thinking right now. If you need some ideas, please contact me.
Thanks for sharing this Jeff. It’s so important to add variety, and also to make sure that whatever you’re posting is leading to clear objectives that you’re trying to accomplish. This is a real priority for us in our social media publishing program. I love how you immediately get all this. Thanks again.
