Mark Shaw @MarkShaw shared the link to Caine’s Arcade on Twitter. It moved him to tears. For a Brit to be moved my tears, it had to be a great social media experience; worthy of sharing with my Halifax and Dartmouth friends.
Step 1: watch the 10 minute video. I know you are probably going “10 minutes?”. This is a good video to learn from.
Step 2: Here’s my walk away learning points for you:
- Caine was persistent. He had a good idea. He just needed to keep committed to the idea. What about you?
- Caine connected with the one customer he had; and that opened the door for him. Who might you be missing?
- Notice how effective social media was for bringing out a crowd and getting attention for Caine’s arcade business. What can you do with the skills you have learned?
- Caine stood out from the crowd. He just needed the right break; and he got it. How will you stand out from the others?
So I want to encourage you to keep on. Work hard with those who have connected with you. Keep your head up because your break could be just around the corner. Caine took his card board and turned it into gold. Imagine how much more you can do if you work like Caine?
