Being consistent on social media is what is required for increasing your business visibility. After all, you are feeding Google. Don’t let it starve.
One of the struggles that I see in business is consistency. Business owners and employees often feel overwhelmed and rushed. There’s always that expression…”When I get around to it!”
If you want to increase your visibility on social media, you simply must be there. You have to have a daily presence and reply to comments that are coming your way. I tell people to think of this as the “Social Media Phone”. When it rings, answer it.
The problem for many is that they do not understand that Google loves fresh content. Any area on the Internet that is searchable, Google is there. If you want to show up better on Google, you have to feed Google.
Consistently feeding Google with fresh content is vital to your success. That’s why a blog is great, for example. You write and Google reads; and indexes the material for search. Your tweet or write on your Facebook Page, Google see it. You write on Google+ and Google loves it.
A hit and miss strategy is not going to get you anywhere. You need to make a commitment to be on social media on a daily basis.
Well that sounds hard. Not really. There are tips that I could give you that would make your life easier. They will come in another post. Right now, I want you to understand that consistency is important.
Just imagine, if you ran your business hours on hit and miss basis. How do you think that would work for you customers? Social media can be their connect point with you. You just have to be smart your social media.
So for today’s walk away learning moment: “Be consistent on social media“. Commit to doing it on a daily basis. How much each day is up to you.
