More and more businesses are wanting to learn how to use social media for business. Here’s a quick snap shot of my social media training for real estate professionals in Dartmouth.

I am bringing forth my social media training for these real estate agents in steps. Here is an idea of what I am doing:

  1. Step 1: Understanding the Why of social media
  2. Step 2: Understanding when you should post your social media
  3. Step 3: Understanding what you should post on your social media

This will give you an idea of how I am bringing forth the information. It is critical that when you are training business, that they understand why they are going to be using social media, and why it is important for business. You have to keep in mind that there may be many unconvinced people in the room. If you try to teach them techniques before they are sold on social media… “Good luck with that”. I feel a Dr. Phil moment coming… “How’s that working for ya?”

Some may still think that social media is a fad, and like everything else, it will pass away. You might even have some social media “Haters” in the room. It can happen if you train in enough places.

So as a trainer, please make sure you bring forth your training in a logical and understandable way. If you misinform them or confuse them, you will be making a mess that others will have to try to fix. Do it right the first time as Mike Holmes would say.

My thoughts for my Silver Level members

To my social media trainer friends: make sure you leave lots of room for questions. Please make sure that the participants feel that they can ask you any question at any time. Make it clear that their questions are great for driving the direction of the class or program. I love to know what they are understanding, and what they are not understanding.

Much of what we do as trainers builds one on the other. If a participant does not get a step, they can be lost for the entire class or program. The best way you can determine this issue is by asking a lot of questions and looking in their eyes.

Make sure you don’t rush over something. Ask the participants if they as a group are ready to move on. They will tell you. And by the way, make sure you have fun and make it fun for them. If they are laughing, they are learning.

Remember that you really can make a positive difference for a business. Be a builder. If you do, they will sing your praises. On social media, this can be very good for you.
