There is value in a tweet. For example Mashable wrote the following: “The car manufacturer is rewarding those who purchase a new Toyota by January 3 with a $500 debit card for tweeting about it.” I believe as good as that offer sounds, Twitter has still more to offer. It remains a very valuable means of getting your message out and connecting with people.

Last night the winds were so strong against the house, I thought something was going to blow away. Jokingly I tweeted this morning…”Did the wind ever howl last night. I thought I was going to wake up in Kansas.” This message hit a cord with some and it is being retweeted across the Twitterverse. A retweet is when some one sends your original message back out again. Just like an echo so to speak. This is helping me get noticed more and more on Twitter. It can work for you as well. Lately I have noticed that my reach is constantly going father than my follower base. Facebook is great for connecting and getting to know someone better. But when it comes to reaching out and connecting with awesome people I have not met yet, Twitter wins hands down.

You never know who will like your tweet or how far it will go. For me, it has been a great way to get greater exposure. It has also helped me connect with people in business. Twitter helps me get rid of cold calls. By the way, I am not the biggest fan of cold calls. So go and take a look at Twitter if you have not done so already. Set up an account and get tweeting. Remember that it does not all have to be about business. Have some fun and get to know people.
