It’s good every now and then to stop and evaluate how you are doing as a business. This also applies to your social media marketing efforts. This will be one message that I will be sharing with my Halifax social media participants.

We have been having a lot of fun in my social media programs in Halifax. In one advanced class, we decided to do our own Oscar selfie pic and send it to the Ellen Show. Why not. Right?

Participants are experiencing dynamic breakthroughs in their understanding of using social media for their businesses. It makes me so proud to see them doing so well and getting results. They are doing a great job learning and applying what they have learned.

As I look back, I see it’s time to do a check up and see how all of my social media efforts are paying off. I encourage all of my participants to make sure that the building they have leaned their business ladder against has something on the roof [A pay-day]. It’s a shame to climb that business ladder and see what you are looking for on another roof elsewhere. It’s always good to check what you are doing, and to make sure that it is helping your business.

It’s been a while since my last check up. I have allowed a significant amount of time to pass so that I can now effectively analyse the results. Social media is about checking and making adjustments all along the way. So let me encourage you to do the same. Don’t just keep on going without checking to see how you are doing. Your time is much to precious to waste.

So my regular posts for the week will be postponed for the week. This is your chance to recommend some post ideas to me. If you want me to talk about certain topics, this is your time. I would love to hear from you.

When April comes to a finish, I will have delivered another 300 plus hours of social media training this quarter in Halifax. As I move forward, I trust I will recognize what needs to be done and what needs to be left behind. In the past I have had the pleasure of gaining wisdom from many leaders. One piece of wisdom that I recall the most is this… “You can’t be all things to all men. You have to figure out what you are good at, and be the best at that. Get rid of the other stuff.” As I perform this check up, I will keeping this in mind.

Make sure you check your progress as well. You business depends on you making the right decisions.

So here’s to a great day of business for you. You hear me say this a lot, but I really mean it. Your success is but one part of a healthy economy. As we all do well, it makes for a strong economy. That’s a good thing.
