The new Twitter 2 step verification process is here and I have turned it on. This long-awaited security feature has been a long time coming. I recommend that you turn it on for your own security.

I set up the 2 step verification process last night. Here is what you will see when you go to tuen it on:

Twitter 2 step verification

I tried to set up another Twitter account with the same phone and it would not allow me. One phone one account. This is going to be an issue for VA’s trying to run several Twitter accounts from one phone. I will be curious to see how my Halifax and Toronto social media friends will make out with this.

Twitter will allow you to generate a temporary password that will work for 1 hour only. Here’s something else that Twitter said about this 2 step verification process:

“After you enable login verification on your account, you’ll need to use a temporary password to log in to Twitter on other devices and applications that require you to enter your Twitter password.”

This might get a little sporting for the first little while. I am hoping for a smooth process. Please let me know how you made out.
