Using images can help you stand out from the crowd. It is the eye that focuses on things that are different from the rest. Now that you can have images displaying directly on Twitter, you now have a chance to stand out from the rest of the pack on Twitter. This is good for your business.

I have been using images on Twitter for a while now. Ever since I realized that I could make my tweets LOOK better, I have been using this feature.
To have an image stand out on Twitter and display, you have to load it via the Twitter app or load it up on Twitter.com website. If you try to put an image on Twitter via Instagram, you end up displaying your image as a link. You can experiment with other apps to see what they produce. Bottom line: you want the picture to display on Twitter without anyone having to click on the link. Here is what I am talking about.
Notice how “East Coast Living” image stand out from the rest of the tweets in the Twitter news feed? The eye is drawn to pictures. In a busy news feed, if you use pictures, you could get someone’s attention and make them stop. This is a good thing.
Here is one of the tweets I used to create this visual effect:

Make sure you use a 2:1 ratio to make a picture appear properly. If your picture is not wide enough, it will become a link. I have seen suggested sizes of 876 pixels by 438 pixels. Bottom line, if it is not wide enough, you get a link. Normal smart phone pictures do well when you use landscape mode.
Don’t forget to try the Buffer right-click. It works great for getting images up to Twitter that show in the news feed.
So make your twitter look outstanding with pictures that show up in the news feed. When someone stops, it could be the opportunity you are looking for.
So here is to a great day in business for you.
