People are looking for stuff on the Internet. But are they looking for your stuff? You want to create content that attracts potential customers. But have you ever thought about how you would do this? As a business using content marketing to attract customers, it is important that you think about what you are using to attract customers.

Are you using the right bait?

We want eye balls on our stuff. But have we given any thought to what our customers might actually want? Customers are looking for certain things when they search on the Internet. You can find out what people are generally searching for with tools like Google Keyword Toolbox and such. But have you ever given a lot of thought as to how you want to show up?

I used to do a lot of fly fishing years ago. One trick to catching more fish was to catch one and open up the stomach and see what is there. You can tell what fish want by examine their diet. Once you find out what the fish are after, you can adjust your hook and reel them it.

Marketing is much they same. You have to find out what customers want and start the process of setting the hook so to speak. This requires a lot of thought. Presentation is important for fishing and it is important for marketing as well. How is your marketing presentation to your customers? Are you setting the marketing hook just right?

Here’s some thoughts to help you market better:

  • Think about what your customer might be looking for that you can provide
  • Think about how you could display what they are looking for. Will you write content and use pictures? Will you do a video on what they want?
  • Think about timing as well. When are most of your clients online for example? No sense fishing when the fish are not awake.
  • Think about including a call to action that makes sense to your customers. Make the worm very tasty and insure a bite on the hook.

Here are 4 more thoughts on delivering better content:

When you don’t think and you keep on throwing content out, you are like a fisherman who does not stop to check what the fish are biting. At this point you are just guessing. When you stop to think about what your customers need and want, then you are like the fisherman who checked the stomach of the fish to see what they are biting.

Let me encourage you today to stop and think about your marketing and ask you this question…. “How is the fishing going? Want to share some ideas and talk some more, let’s do this on The Alpha Social Media Inc Facebook Page.

So here’s to a great day in business for you.
