The is essential for small business that is using social media to market that they find out what really resonates with the community that they are trying to reach. Failure to do so, will yield a business little influence in that community.

I was really pleased that my “The Social Media Company You Keep – You Are Who You Be With #socialmedia” blog post really resonated with my community. I was not sure how it would fare out. It really spoke too many people because it reached them where they were at. It was something that was already on their mind. Here’s some tweets that came as a result of the blog post.

The reality for small business is that business owners and employees need to create as many billable hours or sales as possible during the work day. When a business uses social media to market to its community, it has to quickly find the “sweet spot” that resonates or touches the heart of its community.

Lately, I have been looking closer at my Buffer analytics as well as my other stats. It’s time to adjust and create greater resonance in my community. This will be a great learning experience for my two social media programs in Halifax as well. I trust that what I learn, it will enable them to do better.

So take some time this Summer to look at what you have done over the last several months and look for ways that you can improve your social media marketing. It cannot be all one way. Your social media needs to resonate and create a two-way conversation around what you are doing with your community.

Have a great Friday everyone. Here’s to a great long weekend for Canada. And to my USA friends, here’s to an enjoyable weekend as well. So this post was later today. My wife had the day off and we slept in 😉
