Leaders are readers. They learn and expand their thinking by reading the thoughts of others. Social media is no different. If you want to be a leader in Halifax, Dartmouth and elsewhere, you are going to have to be a reader. You are going to have to grow beyond yourself.

As you read the thoughts of great leaders, you will develop great thoughts for yourself. If you want to lead in the social media industry, you are going to have to read books from great people doing great things. Make sure you schedule some time to expand your thinking. It is time well spend.

To this end, I completely revised my own Twitter book: “Essential Twitter Skills for Business”. With this, I want to help business owners do better using Twitter.

Remember that using social media for business requires the extra effort. You are going to have to stand out in your industry to be influential. You will not only have to think outside of the box, you may even have to re-invent the box.

Let me encourage you to expand your thinking by reading the thoughts of those greater than yourself.
